Mangart Sattel
On the western side of Triglav National Park on the border between Italy and Slovenia lies one of the highest mountains in the Julian Alps, Mangart. (Depending on the weather), the Mangartstraße toll road (Mangartska Cesta in Slovenian) leads from the south to just below the nearby Saddle. The road ends at the so-called Lahnscharte at an altitude of 2,055 meters; from where the now fully paved, but extremely narrow around 7-mile road continues, with 17 hairpin bends and four simple tunnels.
