Col de l’Iseran
From the valley towns of Bourg-Saint-Maurice or Bonneval-sur-Arc, the road climbs up to Col de l’Iseran, which at 2,770 meters is the highest "genuine" paved mountain pass in the Alps. On its northern side are the popular ski resorts of Tignes and Val-d’Isère. Along the reservoir near Tignes, the road passes through a long series of galleries and tunnels, while further south it runs through a high, barren valley.
