Col de la Pierre St. Martin
The nearly 1,800-meter high pass between Arette and Isaba almost marks the end of the rugged Central Pyrenees. Col de la Pierre Saint-Martin is a ski resort in winter, while in summer, cyclists struggle up the sometimes 15 percent climb in the tracks of the Tour de France. On 13 July, the not-to-be-missed Junte de Roncal takes place, a folk festival of Spanish and French herdsmen celebrated since at least 1375.
