Alcan Highway

Into the wild – that’s where you will go on this road built in 1942 to connect Alaska with the rest of the continental USA. Leading mostly through Canadian territory (Yukon and British Columbia) the Alcan Highway cuts through the unadulterated nature of the north. It’s all there: the mountains, sparkling lakes, moose and the odd bear looking for food that you may have left behind (so don’t). Traveling on this route you will get an idea of how the pioneers during the gold rush must have felt – only with better paved road and, hopefully, a much better vehicle.
