Un Giro in Chianti - Through the heart of the Tuscany from Florence to Poggibonsi

They are selling finest hams and salamis. The tour continues to RADDA and leads you into the heart of the CHIANTI. There you find what you always imagined the TUSCANY to be like. Here all the emblematic pictures for travel guides are taken. Take a short walk through RADDA, a remarkable ancient town founded by the Etruscans already. Going on takes you to the adventurous part of the tour. Have you ever been driving an unpaved Strada Provinciale? Here you go on the SP 102. Feeling uncomfortable? No need to worry. It doesn't take a CAYENNE to get along. We've been driving this road with a BOXSTER and were perfectly fine. Keep in mind: You are travelling on a genuine race track! This section of the SP 102 is part of the famous vintage bike race L'EROICA! If you are not interested in modern art, skip the short detour right after VAGLIALI. If yes, follow the SP9 to the left to the PARCO SCULTURALE DES CHIANTI, an open air museum for modern sculptures and installations well worth visiting. Shortly before hitting SIENA - on paved roads again - the tour turns back to the North. Here the TUSCANY rises to higher altitudes with a changing face that reminds you of real mountain sites. After CASTELLINA IN CHIANTI the SS 249 to POGGIBONSI leads you through the wonderful National Park RISERVA NATURALE BOSCO DI S. AGNESE on winding roads. A nice finish of the tour that ends in the scenic ancient town POGGIBONSI.
