The Water of Bavaria

A road trip through Bavaria, the Allgäu and the foothills of the Alps – with numerous possibilities for stops in the region’s traditional beer gardens. The route starts with gentle curves and takes you along the Alpine crest towards Rosenheim as you pass the Chiemsee lake on your left-hand side. After a short stretch of autobahn, you will continue via small winding roads past the Tatzelwurm waterfalls on your way to the Schliersee lake. You will then drive further, enjoying numerous curves in the process, as you head towards the Sylvensteinsee lake, which marks the route’s most difficult point from a driving perspective. Apart from the road at the Sylvensteinsee lake (tolls), the roads are sufficiently wide and well constructed. The Walchensee and Kochelsee lakes will then follow before the Ammersee lake at the end of the route with the history-steeped Andechs Abbey. Enjoy the spectacular view over the lake before starting your journey home.
