Trough of Bowland

This is a classic rally route from the 1960's and is one of the best roads in the North West of England. The public phone box in Dunsop Bridge is sited at the geographioc centre of the UK. On the route, above Abbeystead is one of the beacon sites used to warn of the Spanish Armada. The views from this point of the Irish Sea and Morecambe Bay are magnificent.
