Two Windmills Long - Suffolk B Road
Building on from the two Windmills short route, this route heads out towards the East Coast through the picturesque town of Framlingham. Starting from the Swan Westerfield (great meeting point with good size car park) the minimal amount of junctions allows for unadulterated driving pleasure on some of Suffolk’s tight twisties. Fast and flowing with some technical corners, these B-roads offer a surprising amount of joy for drivers of classics and sports cars.POIs along the route include:- Helmingham Hall (home to one of Suffolk’s largest classic car shows in summer)- Framsden Windmill (no public access)- Saxtead Green Windmill (public access and good convoy photo opp) - 221B Bakery in Framlingham - The Crown in Framlingham market square (great crepes at the village market on a Saturday) - Framlingham Castle (public access) Best time to drive: morning or dusk Road can become congested around Helmingham Hall Gardens. As you can see from our shots, route can be taken in the rain, however advise caution as some sections will have standing water. Filling stations: the only one along the route is Gulf petrol station in Framlingham. If you’re wanting to stick to premium fuel, Shell/ BP garages can be found in Ipswich/ A12 nr Saxmundham.
