The Triple Nickel
The very best in driving roads that Ohio has to offer. Lots of elevation change, cambered turns, and open sweepers. If driven to the limit, SR 555 is incredibly challenging and will help you find the real mechanical limits of whatever machine you bring to combat it. If you choose to take a more relaxing approach to the route (which, even in relaxing terms, it's still a challenging drive), you will still be entertained by some great views and extreme elevations that give you amazing vantages of Southern Ohio's natural forestry and hills. The route is typically sparse of traffic with the exception of other drivers and bikers when it's sunny and temperate, and speed enforcement is minimal at best. There aren't many places to stop between Zanesville and Little Hocking, so be sure to fuel up in advance and bring along some hydrating fluids. S.R. 555 is Ohio's version of "The Tail Of The Dragon" and is a part of the roads that Car And Driver calls the "Ohio Nurburgring".
