St. Kassian, Valparola & Falzarego-Pass

Five kilometres after the village of St. Cassiano in Abtei / Alta Badia the first surprise awaits with the challenging Valparola Pass. The path continues over the Falzàrego Pass in the direction of Cortina d´Ampezzo. As the easternmost high point of the Great Dolomite Road, it connects Andraz with Cortina d'Ampezzo. The technically demanding pass road was completed in 1909 and forms the last section of the Great Dolomite Road between Bolzano and Cortina d'Ampezzo.
