Hawks Nest

Welcome to the Upper Delaware Scenic Byway. You pick up the route in the small yet charming Port Jervis, New York minutes from the New Jersey and Pennsylvania borders. 4 short miles from the beginning of the route lies the gem which is Hawks Nest. A short curvy section of roadway with sheer cliffs on one side and a drop to the beautiful Delaware River on the other. There are observatories to stop and admire the views, but you'll want to save that for the drive back. Good visibility of the road ahead In most parts allow you to utilize the best line through the curves and yes, there are also plenty of straights. I have yet to find a destination on the far side of the route worth a lengthy visit. In this case, the road itself is the destination. Pure driving pleasure is the reason for this route, nothing else, and the second you lay your eyes on the sweeping s turns ahead, you'll know why.
