Essex/Suffolk border ‘B’ roads

Slight detour off of the A12, firstly heading along the B1068 to Stoke by Nayland. The first section is a fast but technical ‘B’ road offering plenty of nicely cambered corners, dips, crests and scenic views. It also brings you into some picturesque villages and small towns along the route. Upon reaching Stoke by Nayland, you turn off to head towards Nayland along the B1087, another fast and technical road with some brilliant corners. The second half of the route starts with a quick half mile blast on the A134. You turn left into park road to go past little Garth school. This road is a lot narrower and tighter compared to previous roads, and is single track for the majority of the second half. Be careful for sharp 90 degree corners and abrupt road endings. The tightness of the road means that even at safe speeds, the road is still technical and will make you feel like you are going a lot faster than what you are. Easy enough route to remember, if you come to the end of a single track road, turn left! Soon enough you will reach Boxted Cross, where the roads will open out a bit when you turn left onto Dedham road and follow it all the way to the end. The road is very quite technical and has many sharp corners that can catch you off guard as the road surface can be rough close to the verge on some corners. At the end of Dedham road, turn right onto Ipswich road. A short blast through the flowing ‘S’ bend and under the bridge before finding yourself on the southbound A12 slip road.
