Chapman’s Peak Drive
Overlooking the South Atlantic this beautiful road between Noordhoek and Hout Bay south of Cape Town takes you alongside a mountain’s edge. First deemed impossible to build, the road was completed after 7 years of hazardous construction works in 1922. Referred to by the locals as "Chappies", it has since become an iconic coastal route often to be seen in car commercials. With 114 curves its five miles will require some attentive driving, but you will be richly rewarded by breathtaking panoramic views.
